Description
An account of the resource
In this one-page typed letter, Robert Cormier addresses the teacher of a class of students who have sent him their projects. He wrote back to them, and as a cover, included this cover letter to their teacher, Mrs. Anti. Generously, he offers to conduct a telephone conference with the class (and he provided Mrs. Anti with his home phone number) as his schedule did not permit him to accept their invitation to visit. As is customary, Cormier conveys deep satisfaction that he was instrumental in vitalizing these youths' reading lives, and he conveys the greatest respect to Mrs. Anti for creating curricular space in which students could meaningfully engage with literature.

An account of the resource
In this one page, typed letter dated April 26, 1996, Cormier responds to Florida teacher, Concetta T. Lee. He explains that Hairston is a non-ethic name that coveys ugliness yet is not a name anyone local might think is theirs. He describes Monument as a combination of Leominster and Fitchburg. Moreover, he thanks her for her work and expresses satisfaction that his book, Tunes for Bears to Dance To, is provoking deep thinking in her students.
